Do dreams have any connection with our future?

when we dream, we envision a scenario that is close to our lives, it usually includes people we know. So how are they not branches off our life of decisions that we didn't take. Like for example; if you broke your leg, your life would branch off into the present life, or the one you live in with a broken leg. But what if we just missed the whole problem and continued that life without a broken leg. A theory is that our life would branch off, for every major change that we undergo. Do you believe that dreams can show us our other dimension of our other lives?
