Can I be pregnant and still have my period?

I'm on birth control and I'm still having my periods but I've been feeling funny since the first time me and my boyfriend had . That was about two or three months ago. I'm cramping lightly and frequently. I'm worried that I might be pregnant. If not what could the problem be? I also tend to be very imaginative so I'm thinking I could be psyching myself out.
