How tight are riding breeches?

Do riding breeches feel like leggings for example? I mean do you feel like you're wearing really tight pants? And are they sometimes tough to get on? I sometimes have trouble putting mine on even though they're the right size and with a pair of tights on underneath to help them slide on haha. Just curious
