My dogs ate uncooked pasta...?

I ran to the store for like 45 mins, ands when i returned home, I found my two shelties had opened my pantry and helped themselves to some uncooked bowtie pasta. I have no idea how much of it they each consumed but I do know that my cousins dogs did the same thing and they had to take him to a vet for emergency surgery because the pasta expanded in their stomach. Should I be worried? What should i do?
