How to stop this vicious cycle?
Corporations and big business have grown due to the wants and needs of the population. It is true that if people did not buy the things corporations offered, big corporations would soon go out of business. However, if corporations and big business would cease where would that leave the individual? Small business fills a niche market, and mom and pops fills still a smaller niche market. Although you may not need a car or transportation, it is an important part of the economy. Countries can and do regulate corporations and business. The trouble is the government is worse at it than corporations are on their own. A solution is balance. Corporations and big business need to be responsible to the citizens. Although the text book definition of a corporation is to make a profit, they should do so by producing well made products that sell for a reasonable price. Laws to achieve responsible business always seem to fail, consumers, if untied, are the only ones who can change the cycle. Just switching to natural gas for fuel would make a huge difference in the balance of economic power. No more foreign oil.
