Is it my alternator? 2001 Honda?

Today my battery died on me. I replaced the battery and drove to school at night. after driving for a couple of hours, my tach started jumping around and then stopped working, followed by the temp gauge, radio shutting off, and abs light coming on. The lights got dimmer and finally the car sputtered and stopped running. It won't turn over. The previous night the speedometer stopped working and the brake/battery lights came on but were dim.
